I grew up a studio kid, learning early how much work happens behind the magic onstage. As an only child, I was often beside my mom as she taught dance late into the evening, sewing costumes, running recitals and seeing firsthand the care, hard decisions and emotional investment ownership requires.

As I got older, I became a sounding board and advisor, walking with her through change and eventually the succession and sale of our family studio she spent 50 years building.
